/usr/lib64/pkgconfig/OpenIPMIpthread.pc:

Requires: OpenIPMI pthread
(...)

but there is no pthread.pc (should be installed by libc I guess)

Same issue on SuSE11, with (it seems) a simple patch:

Fixed in sys-libs/openipmi-2.0.16-r1 

(Version bump since collectd depends on the proper file)
