Description Juergen Rose 2010-09-19 08:59:44 UTC
After gnome-session was not startet because of dbus error, compare Bug #:336138, which could be solved be reemerging dbus-glib, now all (?) gnome applets disapeared from panel. Only application iconf as skype, gcalculator, emacs etc are still present.

In .xsessions-errors I find:

If I try to add again a applet the panel is locked after selecting "add applet", i.e. selecting of menues or further rightclicks on the panel has no effect. No further information is added to .xsession-errors.

Killing gnome-panel starts a new gnome-panel process but no new panel is shown.

And again there is no new information in .xsession-errors. Logout works then for me only via "killall gdm".

Reproducible: Always

Now I logged out. Killed as root all remaining processes of user rose, removed ~rose/.gconf, ~rose/gconfd, ~rose/gnome and ~rose/gnome2. When I login again as user rose, the gnome-panel is not shown, but I have a running gnome-panel process.

The contents of .xsession-errors is similar:

That /home/test3 with autostart files and beagle configs doesn't look me like a "fresh" new user, could you try with a clean home?
