This is an ebuild-request for diaspora: "The privacy aware, personally controlled, do-it-all, open source social network". Diaspora released its source code under git: http://github.com/diaspora/diaspora It's the code that runs for a webserver and uses ruby. My thoughts were, there could be an ebuild provided, which depends on a webserver and ruby, and installs the code into the right directory to be instantly operational. (afaik such things are already available) Reproducible: Always Actual Results: Ebuild is not in portage-tree. Expected Results: Ebuild is in portage-tree.
The Ruby team doesn't have an interest in working on the package at the moment (nor the resources to do so) I'm afraid. Should you require any help while creating the ebuild however, do feel free to contact us. Thanks.

Previous link from comment #2 is outdated. https://wiki.diasporafoundation.org/Installation/Gentoo The procedure seems relatively recent (last update in Feb. 2015). (Not tested, just discovered diaspora*, but I'm interested)
