would someone be willing to confirm the bug closers diagnosis for me on #337197

There are many more errors there yet it was closed as a dup of text relocations...my thought was that the messages reported there could led to overflows? And should not be closed...but I am ignorant and do not wish to make a stink if there is no cause.
Comment 6 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2010-09-14 19:08:40 UTC
not sure how this one can be fixed ... it isnt wrong code persay. it's just very low level.

Comment 7 David J Cozatt 2011-06-07 05:15:21 UTC
version sys-boot/lilo-23.2-r2 - 06/07/11

2 above array bounds-

bsect.c:1630:17: warning: array subscript is above array bounds │
│lilo.c:218:17: warning: array subscript is above array bounds

1 below-
common.c:175:17: warning: array subscript is below array bounds

And many times-
warning: dereferencing type-punned pointer will break strict-aliasing │
│rules

should this package have -fno-strict-aliasing imposed on it?

Marking OBSOLETE due to the age of the bug and the last substantial comment being ~10 years old. Please open a new bug if this issue is still present in the latest-available LILO source release.
