http://slocate.trakker.ca/ dosent exists anymore maybe the whole slocate project is dead dunno?

Well, fwiw debian removed it (see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=457565) more than two years ago.

i'm fine with that.  slocate has always given me grief for little to no reward.

there is mlocate that replaces slocate, but the handbook needs to be updated. Pretty sure other distros have moved to that also

slocate is out of tree, use mlocate
