building xmlto is now failing to validate, apparently because xmllint can't find some DTDs, and doesn't try to fetch them over the network. I expect I just need to install app-text/docbook-xml-dtd or something like that, but I figured I'd upload the build log while I still have it.
Created attachment 246922 [details] Build log The source of the error is /afs/mrph.org/sys/gentoo/amd64_linux26/usr/bin/xmllint --noout --nonet --xinclude --postvalid --noent /var/tmp/portage/app-text/xmlto-0.0.23/work/xmlto-0.0.23/doc/xmlto.xml using /usr/bin/xmllint instead validates fine.

Just installed app-text/docbook-xml-dtd-4.5-r1 and emerged xmlto successfully.
(In reply to comment #3) > Just installed app-text/docbook-xml-dtd-4.5-r1 and emerged xmlto successfully. > Ivan, Would you mind researching which SLOT is correct here? (Or any?) Thanks!
uh, I just researched this more.. # $Header: /var/cvsroot/gentoo-x86/app-text/xmlto/xmlto-0.0.23.ebuild,v 1.3 2010/02/20 18:39:04 abcd Exp $ <snip> RDEPEND="app-shells/bash || ( sys-apps/which sys-freebsd/freebsd-ubin ) dev-libs/libxslt >=app-text/docbook-xsl-stylesheets-1.62.0-r1 ~app-text/docbook-xml-dtd-4.2 || ( sys-apps/util-linux app-misc/getopt ) || ( >=sys-apps/coreutils-6.10-r1 sys-freebsd/freebsd-ubin ) latex? ( >=app-text/passivetex-1.25 >=dev-tex/xmltex-1.9-r2 )" So, this bug is INVALID since it already depends on docbook-xml-dtd ???
That is strange indeed. In fact, I seem to have 5 different versions of app-text/docbook-xml-dtd currently installed. :/ So, I guess something else must have changed between when it didn't work and when it did, but I have no idea what.
