Hi, is there anything thats holding back enabling --as-needed in hardened profiles? Thanks, Pavel

It should already be enabled by default in all hardened/linux/ profiles, only the old obsolete/deprecated ones should have it disabled because of:

hardened/make.defaults:LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O1"

but it shouldn't be a issue, everyone should use the new profiles by now

Hey Samuli, thanks! i was referring to hardened/make.defaults ... i miss-typed when grepping emerge --info and found the the hardened/make.defaults. So i guess this bug is invalid. Are the obsolete profiles still required? Wouldn't now be a good time to get rid of them?
