Upgrading from 3.3.5.1 gives a config file which doesn't differ from the one which is installed : n22 / # diff /var/www/localhost/htdocs/phpmyadmin/libraries/._cfg0000_config.default.php /var/www/localhost/htdocs/phpmyadmin/libraries/config.default.php Shouldn't portage handle this case automatically ? Reproducible: Always
This seems to be related to webapp.eclass.

The ebuild does this: 50 webapp_configfile "${MY_HTDOCSDIR}"/libraries/config.default.php Before PMA 2.7.0 they had a config.php where config file protection was indeed needed. When they introduced the config.default.php file, it seems the line was just adjusted. So as for phpmyadmin, I'll drop the line. Portage team: maybe you can/want to confirm that there's no portage bug here?
(In reply to comment #7) > Portage team: maybe you can/want to confirm that there's no portage bug here? The relevant portage code seems like to will only create a ._cfg0000_* file when the md5sum of the new and old file differ. I installed phpmyadmin-3.3.5.1 and then upgraded to phpmyadmin-3.3.6, but I couldn't reproduce the problem. Unless someone can reproduce this then we'll just have to let it go.
I'll consider this as fixed now. Thanks.
