Parallel compilation issue with autofail... That's an interesting one, frankly I'm unable to reproduce (I'm testing against stable tree though, is there a possibility that some bug in sys-devel/make-3.82 is involved here?).
Please try with MAKEOPTS=-j1 first, I would like to be certain. Thanks!
Comment 3 Maciej Mrozowski gentoo-dev 2010-09-05 20:35:22 UTC
Please see bug 318103. Some users reported strange parallel compilation bugs. There were hints that those may be related to using AMD processors (or AMD related gcc optimizations).
Comment 4 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-09-05 21:22:51 UTC
I vastly doubt that AMD or Intel here makes any difference. There is a parallel race on the Makefile, simple as that.
Comment 5 Maciej Mrozowski gentoo-dev 2010-09-06 01:25:02 UTC
Yes, but parallel race on Makefile with properly defined inter-target dependencies can make it not that simple and one can suspect 'make' being broken under certain circumstances or simply broken.
Like in case of kdevelop where CMake itself is known not to have any parallel compilation issues and code in question is no special - nothing requiring add_dependency or foreign kcfg-related code generation, and I doubt this case is different as "unable to reproduce"™.

Anyway, MAKEOPTS=-j1 forced, please reopen when needed.
Comment 6 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-09-06 02:16:02 UTC
MAKEOPTS=-j1 is a workaround not a fix; please leave open pending further investigation.
Comment 7 Maciej Mrozowski gentoo-dev 2014-08-14 00:20:09 UTC
I revisited this and I'm unable to reproduce.
MAKEOPTS=-j1 removed from ebuild.
Feel free to reopen if you hit it again.
