I have media-libs/libvorbis-1.3.1 w/ USE=-static-libs emerged and get this

emerge lafilefixer.  lafilefixer --justfixit.  start using LDFLAGS="-Wl,--as-needed".

there's nothing to fix in tree.

You wanna kidding me??

I am using as-needed, see above^^! And I am running lafilefixer after every emerge, as probposed by Diego (http://blog.flameeyes.eu/2010/06/29/stable-users-libpng-update), which works fine for me.

Nevertheless, it seems you were right anyways. Don't know where the lafilefixer went wrong, but manually doing it fixes it.
