The information inside the parentheses are the slots of the package.

For some packages like cgit, (or sys-kernel/gentoo-sources for instance), the slot value equals the version number

Usually several versions are available for a single slot

Yes. Even if the output might look confusing in this case, it is not a bug
but intended behavior. Therefore closing as invalid.
