Description Kim Nielsen 2002-06-03 07:23:49 UTC
After emerging apache 1.3.24-r2

I get:

apache: could not open document config file /usr/local/httpd/conf/apache.conf

maybe the --config-file was not set ? I should be set to /etc/apache/conf

Can you verify this one again? (Please use -r6 -- Exploit fix)
--sysconfdir is set properly in the ebuild.

Also can you see if you have any duplicate apache's installed.
perhaps even do an 'emerge -c apache'
Comment 2 Kim Nielsen 2002-06-19 01:13:18 UTC
I have a duplicate apache installation (httpd) but I cannot unmerge it since its
a production site.

The apache server I'm trying to install is:

emerge -s apache

It's now upgraded to version 1.3.24-6 and still the same problem

[Wed Jun 19 12:50:47 2002] [notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down
fopen: No such file or directory
apache: could not open document config file /usr/local/httpd/conf/apache.conf
fopen: No such file or directory
apache: could not open document config file /usr/local/httpd/conf/apache.conf

I cant unmerge the other version until I'm certain that this version works so I
can't test it

Did you try to upgrade to apache 1.3.26-r1? If you tried it, did it solve your
problem or is it still there?

Comment 5 Kim Nielsen 2002-06-21 13:10:19 UTC
I fixed this problem by removing the apache installation and took the downtime
of 4 hours upgrading to version 1.3.26 ..

but .. just tried the -r1 and it works fine :)
