After emerging apache 1.3.24-r2 I get: apache: could not open document config file /usr/local/httpd/conf/apache.conf maybe the --config-file was not set ? I should be set to /etc/apache/conf
Can you verify this one again? (Please use -r6 -- Exploit fix) --sysconfdir is set properly in the ebuild. Also can you see if you have any duplicate apache's installed. perhaps even do an 'emerge -c apache'
I have a duplicate apache installation (httpd) but I cannot unmerge it since its a production site. The apache server I'm trying to install is: emerge -s apache [ Results for search key : apache ] [ Applications found : 1 ] * net-www/apache Latest version Available: 1.3.24-r2 Latest version Installed: 1.3.24-r2 Homepage: http://www.apache.org http://www.modssl.org Description: The Apache Web Server I do not have a -r6 version .. hov do I get that one ?
It's now upgraded to version 1.3.24-6 and still the same problem [Wed Jun 19 12:50:47 2002] [notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down fopen: No such file or directory apache: could not open document config file /usr/local/httpd/conf/apache.conf fopen: No such file or directory apache: could not open document config file /usr/local/httpd/conf/apache.conf I cant unmerge the other version until I'm certain that this version works so I can't test it
Did you try to upgrade to apache 1.3.26-r1? If you tried it, did it solve your problem or is it still there? -phoen][x-
I fixed this problem by removing the apache installation and took the downtime of 4 hours upgrading to version 1.3.26 .. but .. just tried the -r1 and it works fine :)
