Description Klaus Kusche 2003-11-14 12:10:46 UTC
After today's "emerge --sync", any attempt to emerge anything aborts with
"!!! No profile directory; system mode unavailable.".

The reason is that my /etc/make.profile points to "default-1.0-gcc3"
(my system is a gcc 3.1 system, and I will not take the trouble to lift it
to gcc >= 3.2 any time soon),
and the profile "default-1.0-gcc3" has obviously been removed from portage!

i did a probe about this some time ago and no one mentioned this being a problem ... but it obviously is :)

i guess just be forewarned that we stopped supporting 3.1.x ... if 3.2.x fixes it, we probably wont do much to 'fix' the problem

oh and i added the profile back in
