I'm at a loss here. eix cannot find all of my gentoo-sources ebuilds. I have tried to delete the /var/cache/eix file and run eix-update, emerge --regen. eix is not displaying gentoo-sources-2.6.35-r4 and gentoo-sources-2.6.35-r4 eix works fine on all of my other Are there corresponding files in /usr/portage/metadata/cache Perhaps sometimes that directory is not up-to-date, and by default eix-update takes the information only from there. Perhaps you might also try to remove /var/cache/edb/dep/* before the next eix-update. Do you use things like aufs2+squashfs for your portage tree? I once had a problem like this and restarting the corresponding init-script helped.
Thank-you for the pointer on the cache directory. It appears my mirror did not have all the ebuilds, hence not in the metadata/cache directory. I tried a different mirror, ran eix-update and now all is well. Thanks for your help and a great application I use every day.
