<assuming you toolchain is sane, and that the OOM is causing the ICE here>. Well, you don't have that much memory on this machine. And g++ requires lots of memory (particularly at linking state). As you already seems to compile with MAKEOPTS defaulted to -j1, it does not look like you can do much about it. Apart from compiling with all services/x11/etc shut off. I can be totally wrong though.
I see. Kernel messages did indicate that it was OOM triggering the kill. I tried with X and all other memory-hogging processes killed. I suppose this could be counted as 'not a bug', though it seems unreasonable to me. In any case, it is not strictly anything to do with gentoo. Another reason in favour of adding a binary xulrunner package, though.
never use -pipe on a low mem system. other than that, try increasing swap. in the end, there isnt much to be done other than "dont compile on low mem systems".
