app-emulation/virtualbox-modules fails to build under Linux 2.6.36 (-rc1 at this time). A patch has been published (see http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.virtualbox.devel/3126 ). Here is a functional ebuild incorporating the necessary and the polished patches. Reproducible: Always Please note that app-emulation/virtualbox-ose needs some patching as well (also provided).

that (patch for virtualbox-modules and the ebuild) worked perfectly - thanks !
Why this bug is resolved with test-request?
My error sorry.
Patches are still functional with -rc3.
(In reply to comment #8) > Patches are still functional with -rc3. > Confirmed with -rc3-r4, thank you for this patch!
-rc5: working :)
Works well, but it's tedious to have to do it all again, for each kernel update... can't this be commited ? at least to some overlay ?
(In reply to comment #11) > Works well, but it's tedious to have to do it all again, for each kernel > update... can't this be commited ? at least to some overlay ? > What exactly do you want? It's clear that virtualbox-modules needs to be rebuilt for every kernel upgrade, so it would be a sane decision to keep the modified ebuild floating around in your personal overlay as long as this isn't fixed.
mm, i dont have a 'personnal overlay', i'm not a developer, just a user... ok,ok... i'll see how to make me one.

I'm not on the computer right now though to guide you there. A personal overlay is often useful to quickly fix temporary tree breakage, even if you are no developer ;-)
-rc7 working
