Description Melendro 2010-08-21 17:35:05 UTC
Same as Bug 320807 for amarok.

If you use dev-db/mariadb instead of dev-db/mysql, gnash ebuilds has dependency on dev-db/mysql thus creating blocking issue.

gnash should depend on virtual/mysql instead of dev-db/mysql.

I have altered the ebuild to use virtul/mysql instead of dev-db/mysql and emerged gnash with mariadb installed. Gnash works fine as mariadb is compatible with mysql. This is a little fix and doesn't need a diff to be attached ;) I hope someone will update the ebuild quickly.

Thanks. I think we should promote the use of mariadb or at least give the Gentoo user the option to use it (following Gentoo's policy), as MySQL is now Oracle's property (and as we all know Oracle's policy about open source is "not the same" as Sun's policy was).

That's my personal opinion, of course.

Fixed in CVS.
