Description arnaud javaudin 2003-11-13 02:18:14 UTC
When I chroot into my stage 2 directory and make emerge system
it works first
then when emerging diff-utils it stop working
I tryed to install binary (using the .tbz2 file) and it works but the package
after e2fs... did not work it said that the system can't copy any file because
they (every files) are modified under the copy.
after a few check I realized that file in my chroot are all the same size 4T (I
build on a 2G partition!!) but when I do ls -lh in non chroot environment it
sizes are good.
I don't know how this can happen so I don't know what information I can give...
I will try to repair by myself but if you need more information (my
/etc/make.conf the version of chroot I use, etc...) please fell free to ask.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
I followed the install guide
when the problems has appeared (after the merging of the first about 35
packages) you don't need to do the env-update and source /etc/profile command.
the command ls -lh shows the bug

Actual Results:
I already describe this in the details section.

Expected Results:
hu it should be the good size it's obvious.

try the new stages, they probably fix your bug.
Comment 2 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-25 11:24:48 UTC
Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
