The current added app-emulation/plex86 is the "vmware like" software, hosted at:
http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/plex86/
There's a "lite" version of plex86, for linux-only emulation, that's hosted at:
http://www.plex86.org/

I think the second should also be added.

Is this new version stable yet or been released?  I only see a news entry about code being committed to CVS.

There's a downloadable file at sourceforge (http://sourceforge.net/projects/plex86/) from this project. 
But I haven't had the time to test it.
