I guess not only media-tv/ivtv-utils but media-tv/v4l2-ctl have some collides.

Is media-tv/v4l-utils successor of ivtv-utils and v4l2-ctl? Can v4l-utils completely substitute them?

yes, i know DEPEND="!media-tv/v4l2-ctl" in v4l-utils of course. I mean, there are some confusion for user.

Blockers added and let's lastrite media-tv/v4l2-ctl and media-tv/ivtv-utils. 
Replaced by media-tv/v4l-utils.

Can we get v4l-utils stabilized?  ivtv-utils was stable and is now masked, with no stable replacement.

Sure, but I wasn't sure if you wanted to unmask this until its replacement was available.  I didn't think we generally masked stable packages unless they had problems or alternatives.

so where is ivtv-tune from media-tv/ivtv-utils going to be?  it's not in media-tv/v4l-utils ....

kept part of ivtv-utils in tree, and removed the separate v4l2-ctl package
