Description Takuo 2003-11-12 12:19:08 UTC
During the installation of additional hardware-specific ebuilds for ATI
Radeon 9200 SE, inspite that the command **# VIDEO_CARDS="ATI
Radeon 9200 SE" emerge xfree-drm** has been accepted and it proceed
many download form differents sources, it couldn't compleat the
opperation. The command informed me that process aborded due to the
missing file named "XFree86-4.3.0-patches-1.1.7.tar.bz2" form any
download locations...

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Booting form Gentoo Linux CD1 with
stage3-pentium3-20030910.tar.bz2
2.Following the instraction word by word on the **Gentoo-x86-install.xml"
3.Till the enbuilding hardware specification for Radeon 9200 SE

Actual Results:
The command # VIDEO_CARDS="ATI Radeon 9200 SE" emerge
xfree-drm downloads many kinds of file from different locations, and store,
till the step where the command need to download the file **
XFree86-4.3.0-patches-1.1.7.tar.bz2** and it try several time from several
download sources, but it can't find in any location,,, then it abord the
opperation.

Expected Results:
The command find the file somewhere,,, and could download it,,, then,,,
finish the process ! : )

I think I provide all the information,,,
I'm using Pentiume 3, 1GHz processer, with 512M of RAM, with
3C905C-TX-M eth card, connected to the cable modem via Firewall
TRENDnet TW100-BRF104-A, ((( oh,,, for the # mirrorselect ... I did it
interactively,, and pointed it to ftp://ftp.tu-clausthal.de/pub/linux/gentoo/ ...
))) ,,, and internet conneciton seems going prity good conditions..

Please emerge sync. 1.1.7 is for xfree-4.3.0-r2, which is not the current stable version( -r3 is ). 1.1.7 isn't even the current patchset for -r2.

Also, use VIDEO_CARDS="radeon" emerge xfree-drm

If you absolutely need a binary install, emerge -k should use the on-disk things, which are outdated.
