hi, Please bump the gst-plugins-* to 0.10.15, or at least for gst-plugins-x264-0.10.15 and gst-plugins-ugly-0.10.15. It seems the bug with video-encoding/decoding for pidgin/gmail/empathy is fixed. With 0.10.13 there is a bug regarding x264-headers -> black video window in messengers. With 0.10.15 you get an actual video... Reproducible: Always

Hello Geert, Unfortunately I can't really navigate this tarball at all or do something useful with it. What are gst-plugins-dsp, gst-plugins-pps, gst-plugins-sopcast, gst-plugins-ti, totem-pps and totem-sopcast for example? Sound like new package requests. gst-plugins-ivorbis is rolled into gst-plugins-vorbis and would be a USE flag on it probably, but no-one has requested that yet (and ivorbis isn't packaged in Gentoo). The rest are unfortunately just noise to me, unless you point out any differences with the (older version) packages in tree, besides the typical dependency changes per configure.ac on bumps. However, I very much appreciate the enthusiasm and doing things like that on your own. Maybe we should chat about such work on IRC or the gstreamer mail alias, so it can be useful for the main tree. Currently I'll still need to check through everything, and its quicker for me to just do the bumps as usual without looking at this tarball, unless we figure something out (for example mentoring and recruitment, especially if all those bumps were your own work, as more help is obviously necessary here ;)

Aware of new versions, sorry for another delay. Unfortunately been ill the last week, hopefully I can get back to bumping soon now, as feeling good enough now. Other than that, that ebuild is completely wrong, as it's just a direct copy from in-tree 0.10.23 ebuild, without adjusting to changes in the build and runtime requirements - gstreamer core/base 0.10.30 are required instead of 0.10.29 and orc is optionally used instead of liboil. Also your SRC_URI change is wrong - gstreamer.freedesktop.org works fine and is the primary origin for the tarball, gnome infrastructure just mirrors it due to it being a hard requirement of GNOME and very related to it - it doesn't mirror gst-plugins-bad and -ugly for example, as those aren't hard requirements.
media-plugins/gst-plugins-x264-0.10.16 is in tree now, thanks. Leaving the bug open until I figure out all the unrelated to x264 comments again.
