Description Anthony Scopatz 2010-08-16 15:27:09 UTC
The bleeding edge version of chromium has been failing to patch for me for a couple of weeks now.

 *    working copy: /usr/portage/distfiles/svn-src/chromium
 * Installing/updating to version 6.0.497.0_p56204
>>> Source unpacked in /var/tmp/portage/www-client/chromium-9999/work
>>> Preparing source in /var/tmp/portage/www-client/chromium-9999/work/chromium-9999 ...
 * Applying chromium-make-3.82-compatibility-r0.patch ...

 * Failed Patch: chromium-make-3.82-compatibility-r0.patch !
 *  ( /usr/portage/www-client/chromium/files/chromium-make-3.82-compatibility-r0.patch )
 *
 * Include in your bugreport the contents of:
 *
 *   /var/tmp/portage/www-client/chromium-9999/temp/chromium-make-3.82-compatibility-r0.patch.out

 * ERROR: www-client/chromium-9999 failed:
 *   Failed Patch: chromium-make-3.82-compatibility-r0.patch!
 *
 * Call stack:
 *     ebuild.sh, line   54:  Called src_prepare
 *   environment, line 2897:  Called epatch '/usr/portage/www-client/chromium/files/chromium-make-3.82-compatibility-r0.patch'
 * environment, line 1366: Called die
 * The specific snippet of code:
 *               die "Failed Patch: ${patchname}!";

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

For reference, my emerge --info =www-client/chromium-9999 is as follows:

Also I should note that the make.py file that the patch fails to find does, in fact, exist.

Comment 4 Julien Sanchez archtester 2010-08-17 15:28:11 UTC
Checked:
chromium-make-3.82-compatibility-r0.patch could no more be applied in chromium-9999 ebuild.

It should be fixed or disabled for this ebuild.

Comment 5 Julien Sanchez archtester 2010-08-17 15:31:43 UTC
Fixed when this patch is commented out.

Now, I have the same failure than bug #332171.

Julien, I can confirm this behavior. Following the bug #332171 fix as well...

Thanks, fixed while updating -9999 for the latest dev channel build.
