Description Alexander Hof 2010-08-14 22:41:51 UTC
When following chapter 2 of the handbook (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-amd64.xml?part=1&chap=2)
the suggested on-CD documentation is not available on suggested Gentoo Minimal Installation CD.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. download and burn Gentoo Minimal Installation CD
2. boot from it
3. run "links /mnt/cdrom/docs/html/index.html" trying to see the handbook

Actual Results:
Links finds no handbook, because it is not on CD.

Expected Results:
Find and open the handbook available on CD.

We used to ship tarballs with our 200X.x releases, but there's no automatic script in place to build the handbook and put it on the ISOs.

Releng, what can we do to fix this?
Comment 2 nm (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-08-28 23:51:42 UTC
For now, I've hidden the reference to the on-CD documentation, but this is still suboptimal.

Releng: we still need to figure out how to package the handbooks for the weeklies without any human intervention. I don't have time to manually roll handbooks like I used to for point releases!

Do not change the status of a bug after a developer has attended to it.

GDP doesn't use any bugzilla statuses besides FIXED and NEW.
