The musicbrainz USE flag was has been removed from media-sound/kid3, and the feature that it used to build in has been disabled inside the ebuild. This removes one of the most useful features of the program - the ability to fingerprint audio for automatic tagging. I'm pretty sure that it was dropped at this point : 06 Mar 2010; Samuli Suominen <ssuominen@gentoo.org> +kid3-1.4.ebuild: Version bump. (I emailed ssuominen on 28th July for comments, but got no reply) The only comment explaining why it was dropped is : # -DWITH_TUNEPIMP is using deprecated RDF WebService Modifying the ebuild to re-enable the musicbrainz USE flag works as expected. A patch to the current ebuild is attached. Why was this feature removed? Regardless of 'deprecated' methods of getting the fingerprints, it still works and hence is still supported by musicbrainz themselves. Please apply the patch + release a -r1 re-enabling musicbrainz support.
