Description Matija "hook" Šuklje 2003-11-11 02:38:56 UTC
DROD is an interesting puzzle game with a RPG touch to it ...I've heard sooooo much about it and since I didn't see it in portage I thought that had to be fixed ASAP :D
Comment 1 Marc Hildebrand (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-11-11 02:59:53 UTC
Matija, maybe you should try to write the ebuild yourself, it's not that
difficult.
Comment 2 Matija "hook" Šuklje 2003-11-11 03:06:10 UTC
There's currently two limitations why I don't write ebuilds:

1) haven't learned it yet
2) don't have time for it at the moment (two very importaint exams at the
end of the week!!)

but yea, eventually I intend to start writting ebuilds myself ...yet not
very likely starting this month

ebuild and a patch for a x86-binary install of drod (in .tar.bz2 format)

This is a first draft; it WORKSFORME, but your milage may vary. it shouldn't
depend on anything other than X, since the installer has any libraries not
found included with.
Comment 4 James Gibson 2003-11-14 18:13:11 UTC
I've uploaded an ebuild that should let you install the binary version of drod (assuming you are running on x86). make sure it's where it can find the files too, as I had to patch their installer to make it stay inside /opt

*** Bug 33657 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 6 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-11-19 00:54:49 UTC
Added to CVS. Thanks for the bug report and ebuild.
Comment 7 Benedict Verhegghe 2003-11-19 10:34:55 UTC
The ebuild emerged well, but when I run drod I get

/opt/drod/bin/drod.bin: relocation error: /opt/drod/bin/drod.bin: undefined symbol: TTF_OpenFontRW

Any ideas?
Comment 8 Benedict Verhegghe 2003-11-19 10:55:30 UTC
Problem solved by upgrading sdl-ttf to 2.0.6
Maybe this dependency should be added to the ebuild.
Comment 9 Hermann Chong 2003-12-18 01:10:22 UTC
Hi,

I think fmod needs to be set as a dependency for drod. When I emerged it, I couldn't run it until I also emerged fmod...
