Description Brandon Holbrook 2010-08-09 15:53:49 UTC
As of linux-2.6.34, 2 important VMware guest drivers have been merged into the upstream kernel: The "vmxnet3" network driver, and the "pvscsi" scsi driver. Enabling these drivers in the installcd kernel would mean VMware guests could boot the livecd and immediately see their native network and storage controllers. Thanks!

Reproducible: Always

I second that, I'm using ESxi 4.1 and I have to switch back to LSI Logic and e1000 drivers to be able to use the disk and network (using the install-x86-minimal-20101123.iso file)

I'll check the x86 kernel config as I think I've fixed this for the amd64 kernel.

I've fixed this on the x86 kernel specs.
We need to fix the installcd building failures before we can get new a new iso using the updated specs.

I've added all support I could find for kvm, vmware and xen on the x86 kernel specs.

Please test with the latest ISO and check if it works. The amd64 ISO from last week should work and I hope we'll get today a new X86 ISO that should also work.
Reopen if it fails for you.
