Even though I can't reproduce it here I add a missing --libdir patameter on econf Could you sync your tree and try to build it again? Re-open if needed
Just synced and tried again - fails with the same message.
Note to #3: rsync mirrors are slow today, check the libmix Changelog in /usr/portage whether you really got the update. I just synced from Gentoo's main portage and it now builds fine for me, whereas I got the same error before as well.
