you can show/switch the selected cblas implementation with `eselect cblas list` and `eselect cblas set ref` for example. I think that was the fix for this one.
Comment 2 Kacper Kowalik (Xarthisius) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-08-04 18:18:22 UTC
How is that a bug? The ebuild prevents you from doing something "not exactly clever" and tells you what to do:

 * USE flag cblas is set: linking gsl with an external cblas.
 * However the current selected external cblas is gsl.
 * Please install and/or eselect another cblas

Exactly as intended...
If you want to link gsl against external cblas, install one first, eselect it and re-emerge gsl.
Best regards,
Kacper Kowalik

Right, this is a user issue not a bug. I have no idea what cblas or gsl are. The only thing I have in "eselect cblas list" is gsl. Can you name a recommended external cblas?

Visit http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/science/blas-lapack.xml If you're not interested in performance go for *-reference things.
