Description Pat Schram 2010-08-01 09:39:10 UTC
While emerging virtualbox-ose compiling fails when building a headless install with python support.

Attempt compilation with "app-emulation/virtualbox-ose headless vboxwebsrv additions" in /etc/portage/package.use. The "python" use flag is enabled globally in make.conf.

ragnarok virtualbox-ose # emerge -pqv =app-emulation/virtualbox-ose-3.2.6
[ebuild N ] app-emulation/virtualbox-ose-3.2.6 USE="additions headless python vboxwebsrv -alsa -hal -opengl -pulseaudio -qt4 -sdk"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have python compiled WITHOUT "threads" use flag
2. Install app-emulation/virtualbox-ose with USE="headless vboxwebsrv additions python"
Actual Results:
Compile fails

Expected Results:
Successful compilation without errors

Steps to correct:
1) Add "threads" use flag for python (global make.conf or in package.use)
2) emerge -1N python
3) compile virtualbox-ose

The main thing here is that virtualbox-ose should check to see if python has been compiled with the "threads" use flag and error out of the install if has not been.

Attached is build.log from failed compilation. Also forgot to add the emerge info so here it is.

On a sidenote, it also fails with USE="-headless" so I fixed the summary.
