Description Jorge Manuel B. S. Vicetto (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-07-26 03:20:45 UTC
Dear arches, can you please mark this version stable?

There's only one open bug for this version and I can't duplicate it. The last revision was added 15 days ago and got some small updates to fix the tray icon issues with non-KDE environments.
This release (2.3.1) was added to the tree on 2010-05-28. On 2010-06-12 media-sound/amarok and media-sound/amarok-utils were merged back again. This release has many improvement over the current stable (2.2.2).

@ ppc / ppc64:
Do you guys want to do your first stabilization of amarok-2?

ppc64 doesn't have KDE stable

Hi, I'm trying to understand this self-dependency:

!player? ( !utils? ( media-sound/amarok[player] )

What is it supposed to do? I'm reading this as: If you don't have player or utils in your USE then you need player in your USE. If you want to forbid USE="-player -utils" then please chose a sane default and override users choice as per http://devmanual.gentoo.org/general-concepts/use-flags/index.html

Archtesting on x86: Useflags: Good except USE="-player -utils",
Migration of file-based mysql database worked flawlessly ( unlike 2.1->2.2 )
Looks good to go.

One remark: Users could be confused about the "embedded" USE-flag and the einfo message. Do you anticipate stabilization of mysql-5.1? If not, I think USE="embedded" should be made a default.

Thomas tanks for testing amarok-2.3.1-r2 for x86.

Yes, the purpose is to force the user to make a choice. I prefer this than to use the old method as it has its own limitations.

Great.

I expect us to have a mysql-5.1 ebuild marked stable soon. In any case, there's still much work to get the shared lib patch working for 5.1. At this point I'm starting to think we may not get this back before 5.4 or 5.5 and I don't want to force users to downgrade mysql by having embedded on IUSE defaults.

stable x86, thanks Thomas
Comment 6 Markos Chandras (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-07-30 12:03:01 UTC
amd64 done
Comment 7 Jorge Manuel B. S. Vicetto (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-10-16 17:51:38 UTC
I'll be asking for amarok-2.3.2-r1 to be marked stable soon because of mysql[embedded], so I'll just close this bug.

@ppc, @ppc64: I'll add you to bug 335433 instead
