What about giving:
 --enable-optimise --disable-debug-syms

to ./configure , we don't want non-optimized debug builds do we? Posibly
we can use the "debug" flag to turn this on or off...

The Gentoo ebuild system sets your favourite optimization flags by default.
--enable-optimise only inserts the -O option into the g++ command line which
would
even override your custom options like -O3.
And debug symbols don't hurt anyone, especially in beta software like *mule.

Oops! I tested the ebuild and such yesterday but forgot to commit to CVS,
it's in now.. I've also bumped 1.1.0 into stable. Thanks for the ebuild.
