This package cannot be emerged since the SRC-URI ( http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases//3.6.4/linux-i686/en-US/firefox-3.6.4.tar.bz2 ) does not exist anymore.

I guess the newer version stabilization is required or maybe the SRC-URI needs to be adjusted to point somewhere lese

SRC_URI can be changed to point to ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6.4/linux-i686/en-US/firefox-3.6.4.tar.bz2

The release media is still avaliable.

No, it really isn't, unless I'm not understanding what you're saying. Maybe you're getting releases.mozilla.org pointing to an outdated mirror, but I tried several from http://www.mozilla.org/community/mirrors.html, and I don't see firefox-3.6.4.tar.bz2 on any of them.

Package has been removed from tree due to security reasons. Please update to latest stable.
