gtk3, gobject-introspection and whole gnome-overlay all unmasked and enabled, init6-overlay all unmasked and enabled, and installed the most latest version of the packages when possible to try any new features.

Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2010-07-23 14:38:33 UTC
yeah so i'm not going to look at this. you're using unreleased software.

gnome: is this expected behavior with these unmasked packages ?
Comment 4 Mart Raudsepp gentoo-dev 2010-07-23 14:45:38 UTC
gdk-pixbuf was split out into a separate package, and gtk2 will have that too. This was done to not ABI break it together with gtk3, but keep it at gdk-pixbuf-2.0 ABI. Apparently they broke API by keeping their single headers include requirement, or rather, didn't revert that yet after decision to make it a separate package. We should make sure upstream is aware of this and fixes it to only act like that when GDK_PIXBUF_SINGLE_INCLUDES or some such cpp macro is defined.
Comment 5 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2010-07-23 19:02:38 UTC
not terribly relevant, but i meant "overlay" and not "unmasked" ...

Mart: if you could drive such a conversation with the respective GNOME peeps to at least make them aware of this, that'd be great. then i can just close this bug as "upgrade your overlay software" ;).
Comment 6 Jonathan Callen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-07-23 21:23:37 UTC
and just fyi, gdk-pixbuf has been bumped to a version that fixes this issue (upstream commit <http://git.gnome.org/browse/gdk-pixbuf/commit/?id=631546e9fd0f3304c84d6356654ddf21686d84d8>)

git://git.gnome.org/gdk-pixbuf and x11-libs/gdk-pixbuf-2.21.6::gnome resolve this problem.
