www-apps/mediawiki needs PHP installed with USE=pcre but dev-lang/php-5.3.2 has pcre support always installed and does not have a pcre USE flag.

I am having the same problem, a quick check of the USE flag:

# euse -i pcre
global use flags (searching: pcre)
************************************************************
[+  D ] pcre - Adds support for Perl Compatible Regular Expressions

local use flags (searching: pcre)
************************************************************
[+  D ] pcre (dev-lang/php):
Adds support for Perl Compatible Regular Expressions (deprecated: always "on" in php 5.3)

So it would have been a default "on" flag, but apparently not so.
