When lirc is in use media-video/xine-ui-0.99.6 hangs in what appears to to a deadlock or loop when you try to exit playback of VIDEO_TS or DVD iso files with either the remote of 'q' on the keyboard. I'm already working with the upstream devs trying to resolve it: http://bugs.xine-project.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362 There is at least on other Gentoo user on the mythtv-users mailing list who experienced the same thing. It's especially inconvenient as media-video/xine-ui-0.99.5-r1 (which works ok) has been removed from portage. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Play a VIDEO_TS direcory 2. Try to exit 3. xine freezes
The last patch posted on the above xine bug (posted in comment #29) corrects this issue for me, although I had to modify it slightly to get it to apply against the xine-ui head release. I posted a unified diff of the resulting changes here: http://bugs.xine-project.org/attachment.cgi?id=232

It is five months later and xine still hangs on exit. If I install the cvs (now hg) version, there is no hang. Please help.
I was just going over my overlays. I had totally forgotten about this one. I can confirm that mine still hangs on exit if I don't use the patch I posted above.
As of the last version update to xine-ui 0.99.6 I was still encountering this issue, but I can confirm that it appears to have been fixed as of 0.99.7. xine exits with no issue when using lirc. Thanks!

Thanks! Thanks for testing. I've removed 0.99.6 from Portage, 0.99.7 is the current stable. Nothing left to do here then, closing the bug.
