Superkaramba 0.32 fucks up my X server, I can reproduce it everytime I start X after a while my X server usually runs at 100%, when I logout of X then I get a blackscreen with some shattered white lines on the screen, my box won't recognize any keystrokes after that. Right after a initial login X runs with 15% cpu time, if I kill superkaramba it's back to 0. If I leave the machine on during the night, it is usually dead in the morning. If I don't start superkaramba it doesn't happen at all. Note: My CFLAGS are very moderate, I only run stable, I'm using nvidias driver for my GF 4. I used jollix theme for superkaramba. I saw some people in the superkaramba forum, that have similar problems and as far as I could see, the developers aren't sure what the problem is. I think superkaramba should be marked as unstable.
anyone else know anything? I don't use superkaramba.
I used to and never noticed this behaviour (GF2Ultra, same drivers). The symptoms sound similar to another bug that I've seen (not kde), but unfortunately I can't find the bug number. I'd be tempted to blame the nvidia drivers rather than superkaramba, though.
Well I can only say, that this machine has been running for 6 month and never locked up before until I installed superkaramba, in fact first day I had superkaramba installed it hung my whole box. That is why it really looks like it is the fault of superkaramba. I disabled superkaramba again and the box hasn't locked up since I wrote the report.
I have/had some screensaver issues (~100% cpu usage) with superkaramba and an older snapshot version of eric3. Probably a qt/pyqt issue, but I'm not sure.
superkarama doesn't seem to have much development these days, so all i can tell you is to not use it if it causes problems.
