Description Gerard Neil 2010-07-16 17:05:43 UTC
To search the gentoo forums I routinely use google. In chrome/chromium this is supposed to work from the address bar, unfortunately the search term "site:forums.gentoo.org" gets automaniacally replaced with "site:www.gentoo.org"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click in the address bar
2. Type site:forums.gentoo.org
3. (in some versions of chrome/chromium a hint will pop up, something like "TAB to search gentoo website)
4. Press tab or space, then the search terms eg. A B
Actual Results:
Chrome does a google search, but it always uses site:www.gentoo.org rather than site:forums.gentoo.org.

This has happened with all versions of chrome/chromium I have used. Currently, it's happening for me with chromium-5.0.375.99 ~x86 also confirmed version 6.0.466.0 on ~amd64 at http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-6353164.html

I can confirm the bug on Mac OS X. Could you please report it upstream (http://new.crbug.com) and paste the link here?

Please make sure to post all details inline in that upstream bug. You may even copy-paste the text from here, the steps to reproduce are quite good.
