Description Clemens Schwaighofer 2003-11-05 23:24:56 UTC
well, the portage bitkeeper would be 3.0.1 on the bitkeeper homepage you only
get 3.0.3, therefore I can't install it via the portage three (except I might
be able to symlink-trick portage, which I don't want actually).
there is a 3.0.3, but it is not yet in the stable tree. could anyone move it?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

3.0.3 hasn't been long enough in portage to mark it stable yet. You can still
emerge it if you use "ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=~x86 emerge bitkeeper" though.

the problem is, that even if 3.0.3 is not yet marked stable, you cannot download
any older software. so how should anybody be able to install a "stable" one
if there is no stable software to download anymore?

This is a problem with bitkeeper's distribution site. I can see where there would be trouble in quite a few cases, but we don't have much control over how bitkeeper runs it's download site. I've added a note to the ChangeLog for anybody that touches the bitkeeper ebuilds to be mindful of this fact, so hopefully the bitkeeper ebuilds will be bumped to stable quickly.
