Description Lindsay Haisley 2003-11-05 18:15:07 UTC
Would it be possible to update htmltidy to a more recent source release? The current gentoo ebuild relies on a version that's well over a year old, and there are bug fixes (such as fixing block-sensitive indentation) in newer version not present in the one in gentoo. I can't even apply the current ebuild patch against the new sources since the build tree has changed significantly.

If no one is on top of this, I'll be glad to work on putting an ebuild together with a more recent source, but I'm sure the package already has a maintainer.

Okay, I've ebuilt (past tense of 'to ebuild'?) version 3.10.29, or the not
so wacky tidy version 031029.

You're correct in saying the source has changed significantly, and it looks
like the docbook patch we have currently, won't apply to the new tree. I
have found http://www.cise.ufl.edu/~ppadala/tidy/ however, which may achieve
similar results.

Any opinion on including this ? I'll try and wait for feedback before I commit
the new version to the tree.

Okay, I've updated the patch for the tidy source, and patched html2db, and
included it in the htmltidy-3.10.29 ebuild which is now in portage.
