Opera-10.60 will not load the VLC multimedia plugin when I try to play wmv or other videos. I also tried setting it to load /usr/bin/smplayer but it won't load that either. Thank you for reporting the bug. :) It has now been fixed internally, and the commit should make its way into a release of our desktop product in the not-too-distant future.
Bug appears to be fixed in opera-11.10.2005 released today.
