Using the openoffice source version, certain elements default to using the mathematica 5 font. This includes column headers in base, on the ruler in writer, and in the text area of help (see above screenshots). These fonts don't seem to be changeable anywhere in the options, and entering a substitution for Mathematica 5 doesn't do anything. Uninstalling the mathematica fonts package causes it to use a different font, but it's not much better. Attached a couple of screenshots. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge -av openoffice mathematica-fonts 2. open writer 3. open help Actual Results: certain elements of openoffice use mathematica 5, very ill-suited for this use. Expected Results: Openoffice uses a better font, or has some way in options to change it to a better font. This does not happen with the openoffice-bin package.

Do you still see this with libreoffice 3.4? (which has some changes in regards to font handling)
No, haven't had it pop up in LibreOffice, thanks for reminding me :)
