Description mephinet 2010-07-08 10:51:22 UTC
Since a few weeks, when starting my xfce session, the datetime plugin in the panel shows with the correct date and time, but it never performs an update. So, even after hours, the plugin still shows my login time.

No errors in my .xsession-errors file, no output on the command line if I start the panel from there...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start xfce session
2. take a look at datetime plugin
3. go for coffee
4. take a look at datetime plugin again

Actual Results:
still shows initial time

Expected Results:
current time is displayed

Screenshot

The attached screenshot shows the datetime plugin next to the output of the "date" command. As you can see, the system time works fine, it's just the datetime plugin that freezes.
Comment 2 mephinet 2010-07-22 07:48:37 UTC
Two further observations:

* The CPU graph plugin also froze two or three times already
* During XFCE startup, the screen flickers several times, giving the impression that some components are started multiple times
* After creating a new xfce session, the problem did not occur anymore.

My guess therefore is that this might be a session-restart-related issue.
I'll continue investigating...

Sorry, not sure what the problem could be.
