A daemon that would add/remove swap files on the fly when necessary.
Created attachment 20265 [details] Proposal for a sys-apps/swapd ebuild Here is my /usr/local/portage/sys-apps/swapd/ that would do the trick.
Created attachment 20266 [details] /usr/local/portage/sys-apps/swapd proposal (.tar.bz2) The proposed attachment is my /usr/local/portage/sys-apps/swapd/ compressed (.tar.bz2). Using it you can install swapd 0.2 using ~KEYWORDS (~x86 for example) and test it using /etc/init.d/swapd. Enjoy :) Note for the impatient: this is my first ebuild, tested and working here. I know it can be improved and i hope it will not break too much things ... (the ebuild is pretty simple though). I am not an english speaker, so some comments in the ebuild may have to be improved. Hope it can improve gentoo ease of use :)

We don't want tarballs, just plaintext ebuilds. Anyway, the latest version is 0.2 (May 21, 2000) according to homepage, so this is apparently discontinued. Closing as WONTFIX.
