Vegastrike attempts to load but then exits with the error

neither a variable nor a section
neither a variable nor a section
neither a variable nor a section
Panic exit - mission file mission/exploration/explore_universe.mission not found

strangely if i go under /usr/share/games/vegastrike/data/mission/exploration/
that file does actually exist

Steps to Reproduce:
1. vsinstall
2. vslauncher
3.

Actual Results:  
game fails to load

Expected Results:  
ran the game
