I created a cvs ebuild for mlview because I work on it, and it's worked fine until schemas installation. Genome (http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=626411)  adviced me to add this ebuild in Portage tree, as, Gnome developper could help me.

For the moment I had Sandbox violation when the ebuild tries to install gconf schemas in /etc/gconf, so mlview install is not completed.

sorry, but we don't feel that we should be supporting cvs ebuilds of packages
that have stable versions available.

as for your sandbox problems, you should have a look at the mlview already
in app-text/mlview and especially at the gnome2.eclass.
