Comment 1 Samir M. Nassar 2003-11-04 03:15:40 UTC
I removed sandboc from FEATURES in make.conf and tried again. This time it
ran my box out of resources.
Comment 2 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-11-04 05:13:31 UTC
Something strange is going on here, because I've emerged in the sandbox and
it went fine for me.
Comment 3 Samir M. Nassar 2003-11-04 07:44:07 UTC
ok, I fiddled with CXXFLAGS

From: CXXFLAGS="-march=pentium3 -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"

to: CXXFLAGS="-march=pentium3 -O3 -pipe -funroll-loops -fprefetch-loop-arrays"

and it worked just fine

I am leaving this open pending feedback on how to resolve this bug:

Squash it as not replicable.
Open a new one for the specific CXXFLAGS I used if that is applicable.
Comment 4 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-11-04 07:57:17 UTC
let's leave it open for a bit and see if others have any trouble so we know
if it's a big problem or just something local
Comment 5 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-11-12 09:43:58 UTC
Haven't heard any other noise about this problem, so let's go ahead and close it.
