Description Hypnos 2010-07-02 18:47:59 UTC
Hello,

net-libs/gnutls-2.6.6 was recently removed from the tree pursuant to bug #292025. However, after upgrading gnutls, claws-mail now exhibits bug #235098. This occurs for all the stable gnutls versions -- 2.8.5, 2.8.6 and 2.10.0.

Reverting to 2.6.6 in a local repo works around the problem.

What version of mail-client/claws-mail? Post exact error messages.
Comment 2 Hypnos 2010-07-02 18:57:47 UTC
The version of claws-mail is 3.7.5.

The first line of the error message is from GnuTLS, the same as in bug #235098 :

Ohhhh jeeee: operation is not possible without initialized secure memory
Aborted

claws-mail subsequently quits.

SSL handshakes were also failing with midori, which uses gnutls through libsoup. Upgrading to net-libs/libsoup-2.30.2-r1 from libsoup-2.30.2 fixes this problem.

Upgrading from dev-libs/libgcrypt-1.4.0-r1 to libgcrypt-1.4.5 fixes the problem with claws-mail. Perhaps the oldest versions of libgcrypt should be removed from the tree.

Cheers.
