Description Axel Reimann 2003-11-03 06:57:48 UTC
Both applications (xpdf 2.03 and grace 5.1.13) seem to work fine, except that all menu entries and buttons show only the underscores indicating hotkeys.
Curiously, only one of my 2 machines seems affected. I couldn't get any help in the Forum, and even my efforts to reinstall Gentoo from stage 1 were in vain.
Since I'm completely lost I'm filing this as a bug report. Any help is appreciated.

Problem solved:
After weeks and weeks of desperate searching, I've found the source of this
problem: Removing
FontPath /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/local/
from my XF86Config file brings everything back to normal. Now I'd be really
happy to know exactly WHY this solves my problem!?

Apparently you have a broken font in there with the same name as a good font
somewhere else.
