Description Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-06-29 08:15:22 UTC
Seems people like mixing arch with ~arch and current stable fails w/ FFmpeg 0.6 so might as well get this stabilized (bug 326133).

Test and mark stable:

=media-video/ffmpegthumbnailer-2.0.2 (everyone)
=media-video/kffmpegthumbnailer-1.1.0 (amd64 and x86, no previous stable, but it's a nice package. replaces mplayerthumbs for KDE.)
Comment 1 Christoph Mende (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-06-29 12:06:56 UTC
amd64 stable
Comment 2 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-07-04 10:15:18 UTC

I have an AVI file that causes ffmpegthumbnailer 1.5.4 and 2.0.2 to segfault using ffmpeg-0.5_p20373. The output consists of several hundred (maybe thousand) lines of

[psxstr @ 0x891d760]Invalid parameters 12592 1 542330708

with different numbers in the last three columns. I can upload the complete output if anyone is interested. The AVI file plays fine in VLC.

I can't emerge ffmpeg-0.6 at the moment to test it out. I guess this doesn't block stabilization, since the bug is in both versions of the thumbnailer. Will investigate further...

yea, this is wrong bug for non-regression issues and even then, you should open a new bug and make it block this one instead. please take it to upstream ticketing system at googlecode with example file.
